I am trying to bring you a TV segment on the “Palmer Celebrity Lift”.  It’s a new procedure that is a combination of our mini lift, geometric designed neck lift and Radiesse Injections to shape the cheeks.  It can be done under a Novacaine-like injection without general anesthesia and has little or no recovery time.  It uses dissolveage, or no sutures at all, and can make people look 10 years younger in 90 minutes or less.  Add some Botox, Restylane, Radiesse, Rhinoplasty or Cheek Implants for even more effect.

Over 12 million Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery Procedures were performed in the US last year!  That’s an increase from the previous year….and no wonder Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery is everywhere these days.  What were the most popular Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery ProceduresLiposuction and Rhinoplasty.  Women still account for almost 3/4’s of all Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery Procedures.  Read my “Palmer Beauty Principles” to learn why!

Cheek and Chin Implants require a keen aesthetic eye and experience with shaping the face.  I saw a patient today that wanted a Chin Implant removed that was placed by another surgeon.  From the pre-op pictures provided by the patient….I’m not sure he ever needed the Chin Implant in the first place.

I agreed to remove the Chin Implant.  I don’t think that he’ll need anything but I told him that some Radiesse Injected to the Chin could be done after 1 month.  By then the swelling from removing the Chin Implant will be gone and we’ll get a good sense of how his facial aesthetics play out.

You can’t place the Chin Implant under local (Novacaine) but it can be removed that way.  Reason: placing the Chin, and Cheek, Implant requires lifting the cover of the bone..this is where the implant is placed.  Lifting that tissue cover hurts too much for Novacaine but with an Implant removal, that space is already there.  A small incision is placed within the existing scar under the chin and the tissues are dissected until the Chin Implant tissue capsule is found.  A scalpel is used to open the capsule and the Chin Implant is gently dissected free and removed.  Steri strops (reinforced trape) is applied over the area in order to encourage the tissue to shrink back down to the pre-implant size and shape.  Viola!

If you are considering facial Implants like Chin or Cheek Implants, please take the time to read and learn my “Palmer Beauty Principles”…you can read more here: http://www.drfpalmer.com/palmer-beauty-principles.html

Most of all…be sure that you understand the aesthetics of facial beauty and what Facial Implants can and can not do to improve your own!

When it comes to Chin and Cheek Implants…like Rhinoplasty/Revision Rhinoplasty, there simply is no substitute for experience.  Experience in using certain types of Chin and Cheek Implants over the past 16 years has given me a valueable working knowledge that can’t be obtained any other way.

For example, during my consultation with this patient…one of my staff interrupted me to ask questions on behalf of another patient (on the phone) who had a certain type of Cheek Implant material used for his Cheek Implants..he wanted to know if I had experience removing that particular kind of Cheek Implant.  I have and they can be a real bear to get out as they have a tendency to adhere to the Cheek bone……I know because I have removed them before and that’s one of the reasons that I don’t use or recommend those Cheek Implants.

Have I ever not been able to remove a facial implant?  Yes, for Chin Implant…only once on a female actress…it was an older type of Chin Implant that was made out a glass type material…it wouldn’t budge, even after Ihad dissected the tissue fromaround the implant.  I tugged…and I tugged untilo the point that I was afraid the implant  would break.  The only thing that’s worse than a facial implant you don’t like…is a part of one that’s left behind….so, that must be avoided at all cost!  I had warned the patient of that possibility before the surgery and I was doing other things, so she looked beautiful anyway when eveery thing was said and done.

Thankfully, I have always been able to remove and or remove and replace Cheek Implants but I just turned down a case the other day because of the particular set of circumstances, so I guess in a way…I won’t be removing that implant.

Let me leave you with a few parting comments and tid bits:

    1. Facial Implants require a quantum level more sophisticated aesthetic judgement on the part of the Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon…you are altering the facial architecture!

    2. Facial implants according to my “Palmer Beauty Principles” must be different shapes for men and womens faces.

    3. There must be over 60 shapes and sizes of facial implants (Chin and Cheeks)…I use only a handful…because aesthetically, I don’t like the other implants and what they do to the face.

    4. Facial implants like Cheek and Chin Implants must be sutble….or you will look odd!

    5. I don’t believe that Chin and Cheek Implants need to be sutured or screwed into the bone and in fact feel that this may cause dimpling of the implant…by the way, it also makes removal at a later date a real nightmare.

I’ll be writing more on Breast Augmentation, Facelifts, Botox, Restylane, Radiesse in upcoming weeks…as these remain very popular Plastic and cosmetic Surgery procedures here in Beverly Hills and elsewhere around the world.

One of the most common Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery Procedures this Spring has been Breast Augmentation.  Women, this time of year, start to think about how they’ll look in swim suits and some of them make the decision to have Breast Augmentation with Breast Implants.  Although, the overall trend is towards somewhat smaller Breast Implants, Breast Augmentation itself remains very popular.

Women considering Breast Augmentation with Breast Implants have numerous decisions to make including whether they want Saline (saltwater) or Silicone Breast Implants; whether they want the Breast Implants placed above or below the muscle (we recommend below the muscle) and what size Breast Implant they are interested in having placed.

We are here to help patients with all of these decisions but untimately the decision must be the patients to make.  We want all of our patients to be happy with their decisions and choices about their Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery.

I think the record producer is going to work with Ashton…which is great news!  Have a great memorial day weekend and God Bless our Troops!

Open Revision Rhinoplasty is one of the most technically difficult Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery Procedures.  Often the nasal cartilages have been operated previously to a point that something must be used to regain a normal looking nasal tip.  What I have found works best, in my over 16 years of performing Rhinoplasty Surgery, is the curved portion of the ear.  This conchal cartilage has the proper curve and strength to fashion a great nasal tip graft.  This is the first question my staff asks people inquiring about Revision Rhinoplasty by phone or e-mail….”do you have any ear cartilage left?”  If the answer is yes, chanches are that you can have improvement to the shape of your nose.

Working on a TV show for the new surgery procedure but they are ever demanding in file footage, pre and post op pics and on and on and on!  Yikes, what a pain!  Now they want footage of Radiesse and Botox Injections as well as Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery)….like I have footgae just laying around of all the Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery procedures that I perform.  I want people to know about this procedure…just got a really nice note from a patient who had the surgery done on a Thursday and attended her daughters wedding shower on Saturday.  This is what she had to say about the “Palmer Celebrity Lift”:

    Hi guys!!!

I give you permission to use my before and after pictures in the media, magazines, brochures, etc.

It would be an honor to be part of having others see what can be done to correct what the years can do to the face — not to mention the short down time and the ability of getting out into the public’s eye without anyone knowing that surgery had taken place two days before!!!

    Thank you so much,

    Sincerely,

    P.

Meeting with a recorder producer for lunch tomorrow about Ashton.  I really think this producer is the real deal….wish me luck.

Beverly Hills Revision Rhinoplasty and Primary Rhinoplasty (Nasal Surgery).  Saw 2 young actresses…and no, they didn’t know each other or know the other was ever here….for Rhinoplasty follow up.  One was 1 week after a very difficult Revision Rhinoplasty..the other after a slick procedure for a primary Rhinoplasty.  Both are very sweet…and looked fantastic.  I get great joy from being able to make people happy…and more attractive.

Had a phone consult for a Revision Rhinoplasty where I reviewed the patients photos that were e-mailed to us at drfpalmer1@aol.com and basically went through a consultation over the phone.  We do these frequently for out of state and country patients in an attempt to make things as easy as possible… They e-mail us photos and then we have a chit chat on the phone.  You can visit our site for more info on Rhinoplasty at: http://www.drfpalmer.com/Rhinoplasty.html

Beverly Hills remains the hub of Plastic Surgery because of the entertainment industry.  The celebs need to look fantastic and they are no stranger to the knife and suture.  Beverly Hills Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery is a mind set as I go about my daily routine of lift, Nip, Tuck, Fill and Plump.  My latest creation is a quick and highly effective version of a Neck Lift that I typically combine with a Mini Facelift.  The recovery is faster than a Hollywood marriage and most of the stitches are dissolveable (don’t need to be removed).   I can combine these procedures with Radiesse Injections that mold and shape the face for added beauty punch.  Is this amazing?  You bet!  Don’t forget about Botox…that little wonder treatment that can soften unwanted lines and wrinkles and my Cosmeceutical Skin Care product line… Francis R Beverly Hills (R).

Turned down 2 Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery cases yesterday!  One patient wanted more Radiesse Injected to sculpt the face….but she had an autoimmmune disease…that’s a real No-No in my book and she already had Radiesse injected elsewhere several times and the shape of her face was aesthetically not right…in my opinion using my “Palmer Beauty Principles”.  The problem with knowing too much…is that I know too much when it comes to the aesthetics of beauty.  This patient wanted me to make her face look a way, I felt was not aesthetically pleasing…for me that’s not gonna happen.  I’m not here to do Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery Procedures like a mindless robot….I’m an artist with a scalpel as my brush and the human body as my canvas.  The other patient was a Breast Augmentation with Breast Implants and a formal Breast Lift.  Problem is, she’s not sure if she wants more children.  I told her to think about it some more and get back to me.

It’s time to think about how you’re going to look at your class reunion.  Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery has been used by these reunion goers for years as a way of impressing their classmates.  Take years off your appearrance with a minilift and radiesse injections to shape the face into a more youthful, attractive look.

Ashton is finished with high school and will move on to USC in the fall while still persuing her signing career.  We met with a producer that we really liked.

Evan starts filming new episodes of Unfabulous in July….

I have meetings regarding new Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery shows…Beverly Hills Style.  Am working on a new book and getting ready to go on several TV shows. Things are busy here…and then there’s my day job…you know the one I trained for over 10 years to do…to make people beautiful…one masterpiece at a time!
