Another face transplant was performed in France.  The partial face transplant consisted of parts of the cheek area, nose, mouth and chin.  The man had the partial face transplant to restore his face after a tumor resection left him disfigured.

 These types of advancements are sorely needed.  While Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery Procedures can do remarkable things making the normal look even better, the field of Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery reconstruction still has limitations.  Science still needs to find viable solutions for tissue replacement including defecits of bone, muscle, fat, skin, nerves, organs and blood vessels.  These things will come with time.  Imagine how cool it would be to be able to replace these tissues making the aged and deformed look 100% normal.  That day will come.

Plump, Full Pouty Lips are all the rage…By Beverly Hills plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon, Dr. Francis R. Palmer, III.

 Here’s a picture, courtesy of Corbis Images, that demonstartes beautiful lips.  They are full and plump.  More importantly, they have the proper ratio of size between the upper and lower lips of 75%/100%.  Another way of saying that the lower lip should appear pouty….and thus larger than the upper lip.  The upper lip should be no more than 75% the size of the lower lip.  As the upper lip becomes larger than this magical 75%, it takes on that Ducky-look that screams….”My Lips have been done…and badly at that”.

Ok so what are your choices for that perfect set of smackers….there’s a bunch of topical creams and lip balms promising to pucker your pout but what can they really do?  Not much, it turns out…..other than offer your lips a temporary increase in size caused by temporary swelling.

Beverly Hills Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery by Dr. Francis R Palmer, III.

 This is just how interesting Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery can be here in beverly Hills, California.  Today in the operating room, I performed a chin tuck and de-cleft, really a minimizing of the cleft.  Then went on to shape the cheeks using Radiesse Injections.  The nasal tip was pinched, from previous Rhinoplasty elsewhere, so I used Radiesse Injections to soften the nasal tip.  A series of Botox Injections into the forehead and we’re done.  All under lovcal infiltration (like a novacaine injection similar to at the dentist).

 The cleft had been created and the chin augmented using some permanent injection material…done elsewhere….might be silicone.  No Matter, the chin can be reduced by being creative and making an incision hidden under the chin, removing skin and tucking the chin.  Just plain cool stuff!
