Akram,

Radiesse is about $1,200 USD per syringe and it typically takes 2 syringes to create the proper aesthetically shaped cheeks or jawline. The chin may be shaped with 1 or 2 syringes. perlane is $900 per syringe and requires similar quantities.

Radiesse, in my hands, seems to last about 12 months, Perlane about 9 months. Cheek or Chin implants are, of course, permanent and the costs are a bit higher.

Radiesse and Perlane injections are an office procedure and do not require lay-over times as many international patients fly back home the same or the following day.

Cheek or Chin Implants are a surgical procedure and would require the patient to stay in the Beverly Hills (Los Angeles) area for 1 week after the surgery.

We do not have a local UAE or Middle East Agent but do offer an internet consultation service that seems very popular with our international clientele. You can e-mail my staff photos at drfpalmer1@aol.com for comments, review and the option of a telephone consultation to discuss my findings and recommendations.

Jessica,

Yes, I have removed many silicone cheek and chin implants, placed elsewhere that were not the proper size, shape or in the correct aesthetic position. I remove the cheek through an incision inside of the mouth and the chin through an incision under your chin. The skin should go back, since your young.

If the smile is restricted because of the cheek implant...it should be improved. If however, there's evidence of nerve weakness resulting in a weaker smile...removing the implants will not cahnge this.

This is something that I'd have to evaluate...but I have to obviously see you in person.

Hi Dr. Palmer,

Do you have much experience with removal of cheek implants? I had silicone implants put in 18 months ago and would like to have them removed (along with a chin/mandibular implant that I got at the same time). The cheek implants are in the way of my smile--my top lip does not come up as high anymore, it hits the implants! And the chin/mandibular implant is just too big, my lower face is too full. The implants actually look good but I lost my smile and just don't feel like myself anymore. I'd rather have my old, less flattering facial structure back and reclaim my big smile! My concern with having the implants removed is scar tissue and the risk of my smile still not being normal even after the implants are removed. In your experience, how likely is it for a patient's face to return to the pre-op state after removal of silicone implants? As I said, mine have been in for 18 months. Not sure if it matters, but I'm in good health and seem to have good skin elasticity (I just had my first child 12 weeks ago and the skin on my stomach has gone back almost all the way to my pre-pregnancy state with no stretch marks, if that is any indication). Thanks!
