Face Lifts have evolved. The Palmer Celebrity Face Lift is an evolved Face Lift with smaller incisions, less tissue dissection and disruption…which means there is less bruising and swelling. This minimum incision Face Lift allows patients to fly home in as little as 3 days after the procedure.

Below is a picture of how aging effects the face. Arrows are used to show the direction of facial tissue sag.

facelift fig1 Face Lifts have evolved.

    Aging face and Neck

The Palmer Celebrity Face Lift uses much smaller incisions, than traditional Face Lifts, that are contoured around the front and inside of the ear. Unlike traditional Face Lifts or Mid Face Lifts, no incisions are placed inside the hairline, in front or in back of the head, thereby eliminating the risk of hair loss or unsightly scars inside the hair.

The Palmer Celebrity Face Lift does elevate, trim and lift the SMAS muscle layer along with trimming excess skin which may not be done with a thread lift or suture lift procedure. The Palmer Celebrity Lift goes a step farther still by shaping the cheek area into a more naturally, youthful appearance by adjusting facial fat and using fillers like Perlane and Radiesse. Cheek Implants can also be used when a permanent augmentation is desired.

In the picture below, arrows on the face represent the direction of lift.

facelift fig2 Face Lifts have evolved.

    Arrows show direction of tightening

The result is a naturally more youthful and attractive face….the antithesis of the old “wind swept”, “over pulled” faces where the tissues are just pulled and distorted. The Palmer Celebrity Face Lift is evolved and in my opinion represents the Face Lift of the future…right now, today. I’m sure that the top Celebrities know the best plastic surgeons are the ones who’s techniques evolve and continue to provide the very best with the least amount of scarring, swelling, bruising and recovery time. Here’s Today’s Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery Tip:

The day after the Academy Awards with all the gorgeous and handsome celebrities on the red carpet it’s natural for our thoughts to turn towards our own self improvement through plastic and cosmetic surgery treatments and surgical procedures.

If you are looking to make yourself more attractive, be sure that you understand what facial features are the most important from an aesthetic point of view. According to my new book that defines and identifies beauty, there are three top facial features in a beautiful or handsome face. The Cheeks, Eye Area and the Lips.

Of these three features, the Cheeks are the most aesthetically important and should be considered in all cases of facial rejuvenation, where the goal is to look naturally youthful, as well as younger faces where the goal is a more beautiful face. This should be the main focus of any plastic and cosmetic surgery procedures, treatments or surgery. From Botox, Restylane, Perlane, Radiesse, Cheek Implants, Face Lifts, Eyelid Surgery or Lip Enhancement/Augmentation.

Face Lift techniques that overlook shaping the cheeks to a naturally, youthful shape miss the mark, in my opinion, as they leave the face over-pulled, windswept or otherwise unnatural in appearance. I have found in over 20 years of performing Face Lifts, that tightening and removing just the right amount from the face combined with shaping of the cheeks either with fillers like Perlane and Radiesse or with Cheek Implants gives the face a youthful, natural beauty that is otherwise not achievable. This was my inspiration for creating our “Palmer Celebrity Face Lift”.

Yoanna House from Next Top Model denies face plastic and cosmetic surgery but admits to Breast Augmentation with Breast Implants.

    did she nip and tuck?

Photo Credits: Simmons, Countess/Getty Full article:

The photo in the black dress reportedly from 2004 compared to the one where she’s in the red dress shows an increased bust from the admitted Breast Augmentation and Breast Implants. Her face looks about the same but seems aged a bit, which of course is normal after children and 6 years time. The only question I have is the right side of her face appears to have less jowling (seen in 2004) than 6 years later…hmmm. This may indicate some type of facelift procedure, but only she knows for certain.

What’s her “Face Number”? In 2004 photo, her Palmer Code Face Number is 97 and in the 2010 photo it’s a 90 out of 100 possible points…her “Number” went down 7 points since 2004 no matter what she’s done.

There’s an article about a lady in China that broke up with her boyfriend…ok, so far that’s a sad story.

But now this lady has decided that she’ll have plastic surgery to look like Jessica Alba in order to win him back…now, that’s a bit odd and in fact against all advice by experienced plastic and cosmetic surgeons, myself included, that tell such prospective patients this may be the wrong reason to change your appearance with plastic surgery. While plastic and cosmetic surgery can make you more attractive which often comes with an increased self confidence, it’s unlikely to keep your love, your spouse or drastically alter your life.

Turns out there’s a plastic surgery clinic, in China, that’s offering to do the surgery for free so the surgeon(s) can show off their skills…now that’s just plain crazy in my opinion. Encouraging someone to have elective plastic surgery in an attempt to look like someone else…so they can win back the love of a lost boyfriend is, in my opinion, wrong ethically, morally and professionally. I say shame on them and I’d encourage the lady to seek emotional counseling and not the scalpel. Either way, her boyfriend is most likely not coming back.

Daily News Article questioning whether, or not Lindsay Lohan had Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery, more specifically Breast Implants for Breast Augmentation. Progressing from the top photos to the lower set, especially the one where Lindsay’s wearing the black tee, it appears that she may have had not only Breast Enhancement ( the breasts appear much more full) but also a Rhinoplasty to narrow and refine her nose…but only she knows for sure.

What we can say for sure, is that her “Number” went up from an 82 in the first set of pictures to a 91 (picture in black tee), out of a perfect 100, using The Palmer Code.

Grammy’s 2010 Taylor Swift: Taylor looks beautiful in this blue dress but what if we had a magic wand and could change her appearance to make it a perfect face, what would we consider doing?
    1. The eyebrows are low, so perhaps some Botox to the eyebrows or a Brow Lift.

    2. The left cheek is a bit more flat than the right so a little soft tissue filler to shape and contour the cheek using either Radiesse

    3. The upper lip is thin compared to the lower lip, so perhaps either a soft tissue filler to the lip borders using Restylane or Juvederm or a semi-permanent lip implant like Alloderm that seems to last about 7 years.

    4. The nose is a little thick and a Rhinoplasty (nose job) could thin and refine both the nasal bridge and tip.

This is, of course fantasy, and a make believe exercise but still fun and exciting to imagine. So what’s her “Face Number” now: 86 Fantasy Makeover Face Number: 99 with 100 being perfect.

Latisse is the new product from Allergan that is all the rage because it can increase the length and fullness of your eyelashes. It has to be a doctors prescription and has a monthly cost of $150 per month per patient to the doctor…so expect a markup in price to be passed onto you. There is a small risk of changing green, blue or light colored eyespermanently to brown colored eyes, so be sure to speak to your plastic and comsetic surgeon about the risks and benefits. It is a daily use for life in order to maintain the effects to the eyelashes.

Dysport, a competitor product to Botox as an injection to decrease unwanted lines and wrinkles is hitting the market this July and will be available. The price will be similar toBotox, which costs about $400 per treated area… The Glabella, Crow’s Feet and Lip lines are typically 1 area while the Forehead can be 2-3 areas due to the length and depth of the lines and the amount of product required. There are some mumurings that Dysport may last longer than Botox but only time will tell.

Rhinoplasty Costs: Rhinoplasties with an experienced Rhinoplasty surgeon will run you $10,000 or more depending on what needs to be done to your nose. Revision Rhinoplasty can increase to $12,000-$15,000 or more. So, if you are quoted $4,000 or some of these other very low prices, it might be a cause for concern. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

The Celebrity Lift remains the main procedure to create a more youthful, natural, beautiful face with very quick recovery..often measured in hours. The big face lift is going the way of the dinosaurs….

The cost of Rhinoplasty or nasal surgery is a very commonly asked question. The answer is…as you might expect not simple. The cost of your Rhinoplasty can and will vary based on the following factors:

    1. A Revision Rhinoplasty will be more difficult to perform, takes a higher skill level to acheive the desired aesthetic result/avoid un-wanted complications and as such will cost more than a Primary or first time Rhinoplasty.

    2. Rhinoplasty will cost more as more areas of your nose require modifications. The nasal bone width, the bridge, the mid-nose section, the tip and the nasal septum. If your nose requires just tip reduction/modification the cost will be less than if more or all areas of the nose require manipulation. Even within each area, of the nose…say the nasal bones…can require different degrees of adjustments. Rasping the bones will be less expensive than bone osteotomies that are required for more dramatic reduction in the width and/or height of the nasal bones (often referred to as breaking the nose).

The nasal tip is similar as a retrograde tip-plasty will be less expensive than an open tip-plasty with cartilage modification which is less than cartilage manipulation plus placement of an ear graft for further support and tip definition…and on and on it goes. I hope you can appreciate that there are almost an endless combination of things that can be done to manipulate the nose during a Rhinoplasty, so until you have an in depth consultation and analysis of your nose during consultation with an experienced Rhinoplasty Surgeon…you really can’t get an accurate Rhinoplasty price.

    3. The more experience and higher profile your Rhinoplasty Surgeon, the more your Rhinoplasty cost will be. Rhinoplasty is the most difficult plastic and cosmetic surgery procedure to perform, in my opinion and as such it’s paramount that you get the most experienced Rhinoplasty Surgeon you can afford…even if that means that you have to travel out of state or to another country. Failure to do so may set you up to have another Rhinoplasty…a revision this time which is guaranteed to be more difficult and therefore more expensive than the last…so get the best plastic & cosmetic surgeon you can find to do the job the first time.

Here’s my 4-step guide on How to Choose Your Rhinoplasty Surgeon.

By the way, you can use this guide when selecting a plastic and cosmetic surgeon for Face Lift, Neck Lift, Brow Lift, Forehead Lifts, Hair Transplants, Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty), Cheek Implants, Chin Implants, Lip Augmentation, Mini Face Lifts, Breast Implants, Liposuction, Tummy Tucks, Buttock Lift, Botox, Juvederm, Restylane, Perlane, Dysport, Radiesse, IPL or a Chemical Peel.
