If you are like millions of people worldwide that are thinking about having a Rhinoplasty or you one of the hundreds of thousands of Rhinoplasty patients, only one thing really matters to you. Where can you get the World’s Best Rhinoplasty.

I have been performing Rhinoplasty here in Beverly Hillsfor over 20 years and for about 7 years traveled to London to perform plastic and cosmetic surgery including Rhinoplasty. All in all, I’ve performed many Rhinoplasties for over 20 years and I can tell you that Rhinoplasty is the most technically difficult plastic and cosmetic surgery procedure that is performed and Revision Rhinoplasty is many times more difficult.

Unlike many other plastic and cosmetic surgery procedures, Rhinoplasty is tough to master and in my humble opinion can’t be done at a top level (the world’s best) unless all the following things are met:

1. The plastic and cosmetic surgeon must have rigorous training in how to perform
Rhinoplasty Surgery. Not all surgeons have the same training and this training differs
even more from country to country. In my opinion, the US and Beverly Hills has some of
the World’s Best plastic and cosmetic surgeons.
2. The plastic and cosmetic surgeon after adequate training must perform many, many
Rhinoplasty surgeries in order to have the type of experience you want in a world class
Rhinoplasty Surgeon. If you are seeking Revision Rhinoplasty, then your Rhinoplasty
Surgeon needs even more experience as the nasal tissue, structures and skin all become
increasingly more difficult to manipulate with each subsequent Rhinoplasty.
3. The plastic and cosmetic surgeon and the patient must have a thorough understanding
of the aesthetics of beauty as outlined in my new book, on the subject, “What’s Your
Number…the palmer code.” This allows you to get the desired improvement and helps
you avoid a pinched, scooped, short or distorted nose after your Rhinoplasty.

Differences in cartilage thickness, nasal bone size and thickness, skin thickness and amount of oils, shae and size of the nostrils, size and shape of tip cartilages, rotation angle of the tip, amount of columellar show, width of nasal bones and the forhead/nasal angle are just a few of the many variables that must be taken into consideration by an experienced, world-class Rhinoplasty Surgeon…all before the proper surgical plan can be mapped out for your Rhinoplasty. This does not even consider the scenario where onlay grafts may be required to build up the nasal bridge or define the nasal tip. Certain materials work best on the nasal bridge while other do best in the nasal tip. When placed elsewhere, the same material may dissolve unevenly after a few years or worse…erode through the nasal skin creating a deformed appearance to the nose.

So when seeking Rhinoplasty….get the World’s Best….do your homework and get the training, experience and sound aesthetic judgment that you need.

Augmenting, or improvong the size and shape of the chin with a Chin Implant.

Just stepped out of the OR where I removed a small, button-style chin implant from a tall rugged-looking man. He came to me seeking a more augmented and defined chin then what he had obtained from the button chin implant that had been placed by another surgeon elsewhere.

This story illustrates my two basic principles of aesthetic plastic and cosmetic surgery, including Chin Implants.

Rule # 1: The Aesthetics of Beauty must be followed. In this case, the small button-style chin implant was not consistent with the aesthetics of beauty and was incapable of making his chin more rugged and masculine. In a word, the procedure, in my opinion, was doomed to failure, from a purely aesthetical sense, once that size and shape of chin implant was selected. At that point it didn’t matter how technically gifted the surgeon was or how much experience the sugeon had with chin implants….the patient’s appearance was not going to be improved, nor was this chin implant capable of increasing his “Number”.

Rule # 2: You, as the consumer have the responsibility of selecting the best, even the World’s best plastic and cosmetic surgeon that you can find…making certain that the surgeon follows the aesthetics of beauty in a way that will improve “Your Number”. Chelsea Handler made Maxim’s List but What’s Her Number according to the Palmer Code:

Face Number: 81 out of 100 points Body Number: 76 out of 100 points

*** A few comments, Chelsea’s Face Number falls in the beauty category just above average with a score of 81. This falls far short of a Palmer Code Number of 95-100 which is considered “Star Quality Beautiful”…so we say, Not Hot. Her Body is covered up with no photos to prove she’s hot and from what we can see her Palmer Code Body Number is a 76 out of a possible 100, she’s again far from a hot score of 95-100 so once again we say Not Hot…in fact, it’s not even close. She’s funny, controversial and zanny but she wouldn’t make The Palmer Code top 100 Hot Celebrity List.

What’s Your Number (Face or Body) according to The Palmer Code: out of 100 points possible:

Average Looking: 60-74 points

Attractive Looking: 75-84 points

Good Looking: 85-94 points

If I had to define the world’s best Cheek Augmentation Surgery using Cheek Implants, I could do so with a single phrase “naturally beautiful”. I have been using Cheek Implants, for over 20 years, to shape and contour the face in a subtle, natural yet highly effective manner to create soft beautiful faces in women and rugged, angular faces in men. Yes, quite a few men have Cheek Implants top create a ruggedly handsome face.

I believe, that more than any other plastic and cosmetic surgery procedure…Cheek Implants must be just the right size and shape to create the proper aesthetic contour. If the Implants are to small, large, wide, thick or the wrong shape….the facial aesthetics will be off and the face looks odd and sometimes downright deformed. Hardly the naturally beautiful or handsome look you wanted to achieve.

When I see patients who have had, what I believe are, an incorrect size and or shape) Cheek Implants there always seems to be a lack of aesthetic understanding on the part of the plastic surgeon and the patient. In many cases, the Cheek Implants were placed in an ill-advised attempt to plump up and fill sagging facial tissues resulting in massively over-sized implants and a deformed face.

Here are my important take away points for anyone seeking Cheek Implants as a way to shape and improve facial appearance.

1. Cheek Implants must be subtle in shape and size….they should enhance not overwhelm the face.

2. Not everyone is a good candidate for Cheek Implants and this is based on the actual shape of your existing cheek bones.
The entire cheek bone should have an ideal aesthetic shape, as outlined in my new book “What’s Your Number…the palmer code. However, it’s quite common for one or both cheek bones to have sections that are ideally shaped and parts that are not. When the majority of the cheek bone is properly shaped, adding a Cheek Implant is likely to make the cheeks and face appear to broad or large and this is something that obviously should be avoided. In that case, fillers like Perlane, Radieese or Juvederm Ultra Plus can be injected to fill and enhance just the deficient segment of the cheek. This is a temporary solution but one that is highly effective and avoids disfiguring the face.

3. When using Cheek Implants, a little augmentation goes a long way.

When augmenting the cheeks with Cheek Implants, using a subtle implant makes the cheek and the entire face attractive…but once the implant is even slightly to large, small or thick…the cheek and the face appear deformed. “A little is good, more is terrible.”

4. Not every Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon is comfortable using Cheek Implants.

Just this week we had a person contact us via e-mail to say she visited a well known plastic and cosmetic surgeon about possible cheek implants to which the surgeon gave a less than supportive opinion about the merits and benefits of using Cheek Implants to improve the facial appearance. This position, with which I completely disagree should make that patient realize she must seek another plastic and cosmetic surgeon who believes in Cheek Augmentation with Cheek Implants.

Cheek Implants can, will and do alter the facial skeletal shape and as such may be daunting to some plastic and cosmetic surgeons…it’s OK, not everyone has to perform every type of plastic and cosmetic surgery procedure. You do need to find a plastic and cosmetic surgeon that does many Cheek Augmentations with Cheek Implants and who gets a consistently great aesthetic result with Cheek Implants. Why would you go anywhere else?

5. You always, always, get what you pay for.

The best, the top Cheek Implant surgeons will charge accordingly. Beware of discount prices as these may indicate a surgeon with little or no experience.

6. Do be open to adjunct procedures along with your Cheek Implants.

If the tissues of the face and or neck are loose and have sagged, Cheek Implants should never (in my opinion) be used to lift these tissues as this requires an implant that is very large, thick and aesthetically incorrect. When used in this scenario, the Cheek Implant is inconsistent with a naturally youthful and beautiful face. Instead you may wish to tighten, lift and remove excess fat and skin for a face that is shapely and more attractive using our “Palmer Celebrity Facelift.” Think of this as re-draping the tissues over the improved cheek structure once the Cheek Implants have been placed.

Of course Rhinoplasty, Eyelid Surgery, Breast Augmentation with Breast Implants, Botox, Browlifts, Tummy Tucks, Chin Implants and Lip Enhancements can also be done at the same time as Cheek Augmentation.

7. Celebrities are no stranger to Cheek Implants.

I’ve seen numerous pictures of celebrities before and after their alleged plastic and cosmetic surgery and they may have had Cheek Implants to fill and shape their cheeks.

Last time I mentioned Maxim’s list of the 100 hottest women that by their own definition is portrayed as “the definitive list of the world’s most beautiful women”.

I decided to test their list and rate some of these women to see how beautiful they are using The Palmer Code to calculate their Face and Body Numbers. I am unaware of the criteria Maxim used to include these women in such a lofty list of the world’s most beautiful but I will use the analytical Palmer Code where the Numbers having the following meaning: Based on 100 point scale.

Average looking: 60-74 points out of 100

Attractive: 75-84 points out of 100

Good looking: 85-94 points out of 100

Star Quality Beautiful: 95-100 out of 100

In the Palmer Code the world’s most beautiful would need to score Face and Body Numbers in this highest category to be considered that attractive and clearly some of these women do not.

Let’s start with Kelly Rippa who’s Palmer Code Face Number is 80 out of 100 and who’s Body Number is a 78 out of 100. While fit and trim, Kelly falls short of Star Quality Numbers in both categories and as such should not be considered one of the world’s most beautiful. The Numbers just don’t justify her inclusion.

Maxim has just released, what it says are the 100 hottest Celebrities. I took a quick look at the list and have a few questions about some of the names on the list.
Kelly Rippa, Chelsea Handler, Hayden Panetierre, Hilary Duff, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Emma Roberts, Anna Faris, Emma Stone and Ke$ha for starters.

Who makes these decisions at Maxim and who do they propose to speak for? Are they saying that of all the women we see on TV and in movies, these are the hottest 100 females? Seriously? I find this type of article annoying. People Magazine, Maxim or some news source, somehow comes up with a list of the most attractive, the most beautiful or in this case, the hottest…but are they really and in who’s opinion? Who are the people making these determinations? Are they experts in what makes women beautiful or hot? Most of the time when I look at the list of those included, there are those that are truly beautiful but there are those that surely should not in the list. They are cute, attractive even lovable…but nothing more.

As a Beverly Hills Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon for over 20 years, I have spent my career identifying what makes a woman beautiful and creating that look…so I am an expert…as outlined in my new book on the subject “What’s Your Number…the palmer code”…here you can learn what makes the face and body beautiful. In my next several posts, I will challenge Maxim’s list and give their 100 hot women Their Face Numbers using The Palmer Code….we shall see who’s hot and who is not. The Palmer Code uses a 100 point scale and Faces or bodies that score 95-100 points are considered “Star Quality Beautiful”….let’s see if Maxim’s list holds up that my rigorous standards as a beauty expert.
