Really? I took a quick look at this so-called Hot 100 Celebrity List and found some serious flaws in their hot evaluations. I’ve been a Beverly Hills Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon for over 20 years and make people more attractive for a living. I’ve written a new book (“What’s Your Number…the palmer code”) that defines what makes people beautiful, so I’d say that makes me an expert on judging who is and isn’t hot. So here we go, let’s see if Maxim’s Hot Celebrity List truly stands the “What’s Your Number” test.

Here’s some of the same Celebrities and their Palmer Code Numbers: To recap here are the various categories for What’s Your Number using The Palmer Code:

60-74 Average Looking

75-84 Attractive

85-94 Very Good Looking

95-100 Star Quality Beautiful an this is the category we call HOT!

Hayden Panettiere: What’s her Number?: Face Number 86 Body Number 84 So we say she’s not hot but at the low end of Very Good Looking/high end of Attractive.

Anna Faris: What’s her Number? Face Number 78 Body Number 82 So we say, not Hot but Attractive.

Emma Stone: What’s Her Number? Face Number 74 Body Number ? Her body wasn’t shown, so who knows? So we say not Hot and in fact she’s in the Average Looking Number category.

Now let’s compare those wanna bees with a real What’s Your Number beauties: Jessica Alba and decide What’s her Number? Face Number 98 Body Number 98 So we say she’s Star Quality Beautiful and her Numbers indicate that she is indeed Hot!

Arianny Celeste What’s her Number?

Face Number 88 Body Number a perfect 100. So we say she’s Hot!

Joanna Krupa What’s her Number?

Face Number 98 Body Number a perfect 100. She’s Hot for certain!

“What’s Your Number..the palmer code.”

With Botox injections, the needle penetrates the skin and tissues to the level of the muscle causing the unwanted line or wrinkle. The toxin is then administered through the needle and syringe directly to the targeted muscle. The toxin relaxes the muscle and the line and wrinkle is diminished. Simple and easy to understand.

Now, when a cream or lotion is placed on the surface of the skin things get far more complicated.

1. How much of the toxin and how rapidly is it absorbed by the skin

2. How deeply is the toxin absorbed by the tissues…remember the toxin needs to get to the muscle in order to make it and the resulting line or wrinkle relax. If the toxin is stuck in the dermis of the skin or in the deeper fatty tissue above the muscle, how can it affect and relax the muscle?

3. If the toxin does reach the fatty tissues or the muscle (getting through the tough exterior tissue of the muscle called the fascia) will it be taken away by the various blood vessels within the fat and or the muscle. For the botulinum toxin to be effective it must come into contact with the neuromuscular junctions within the muscle in some amount for some period of time.

I am unsure that all these criteria are being met but I await the opportunity to try Revance for myself as I have been using Botox injections in my Beverly Hills plastic and cosmetic surgery practice for 20 years. I love the idea of rubbing a cream and making the lines and wrinkles go away but I as of yet remain a skeptic. I will keep you informed as I learn more.

Karina Smirnoff is very attractive but if you use my “What’s Your Number” system on her face, she scores an 83 mostly because of the distraction that her nose creates on her face. Her nose, in this picture, is long with the tip rotated downward and as such takes the viewers attention away from the most important aesthetic facial features which are the Cheeks, Eyes and Lips in that order. Now a Rhinoplasty to reduce the nose in a soft and natural-looking manner would increase her face Number by almost 10 points, making her a 93 out of 100 (a perfect score). With my What’s Your Number system, beauty dooesn’t have to be a secret, esoteric or ephemeral…it is quantifiable, identifiable and therefore able to be re-created. You just need to know the secrets.

The purpose of your Rhinoplasty is to create a more refined, sleek nose. It is not to get a perfect nose.

There are many ways to refine the nasal tip, bridge and width of the nose from rasping the nasal bones, to placing sutures between wide layers of upper lateral cartilages, to removing excess subcutaneous tissue, shaving/removing cartilage and breaking the bones. Experience will dictate which the plastic surgeon chooses to apply in your particular Rhinoplasty.

Primary (first time) Rhinoplasty is easier to perform than a revision Rhinoplasty which has more tissue scar formation and the unknown abnormalities of the existing nasal anatomy resulting from the previous Rhinoplasty. Each subsequent Rhinoplasty creates more scar and further disruption to that nasal anatomy. This is why a Revision Rhinoplasty has a different set of goals (make the nose look normal first then more attractive if possible), has a greater degree of uncertainty (don’t know what was done to the nose during the previous Rhinoplasty surgeries) and is a quantum level more difficult to perform. Generally, this is not a time to be overly aggressive….which could lead to disaster.

Healing from a first time Rhinoplasty is something like this.
I don’t use any nasal packing. I frequently do use a nasal cast made of plastic and tape over the nasal skin. The first day post-op, I see the patients and clean out the nostrils using Q-tips and peroxide. I instruct patients to place ice over their eyes to reduce swelling and bruising, avoid strenuous activity and avoid taking Vit C, E, aspirin and other blood thinning agents and supplements. You should also avoid getting the cast really wet as it may come off.

Cast is removed after 1 week post Rhinoplasty and the skin of the nose is gently cleaned with alcohol. If a tip cartilage graft was placed during an open Rhinoplasty, reinforced tape is applied around the graft to further stabilize the graft. This is removed in another 3-4 days. The patient is informed that swelling can and will occur and it won’t be even from side to side or from top to bottom of the nose. Ice is used over the eyes and the sides of the nose and patients are advised to sleep on U-shaped pillows for 1 month. Once again, strenuous activity and direct contact (bumping, hiting) the nose is to be avoided for 1 month.

Patients are generally seen at 1 month post Rhinoplasty and are then instructed on how to manipulate the nasal tissues to remove residual swelling that can exist from 6 months (first time Rhinoplasty to almost 2 years in difficult revision Rhinoplasty). Patients are encouraged to be seen every month to follow their progress…and to intervene with kenalog injections if required to reduce the scar formation in the nose.

Full activity can be resumed after 1 month however, if it’s hot or you work out the nose will swell. Ice the nose and this typically resolves the following day. Swelling lessens over the months as does this tendency to swell after working out.
