+-If you’re not in the entertainment biz…the word hiatus probably doesn’t have the same meaning.+- For those on the small and big screen, but mostly TV shows…hiatus is a time when the TV production takes a break.+- It’s also a time when celebs might want a little something….something to improve their appearance.

+-I have said, many times before, that the beautiful people work to look and stay that way!+- That means a little nip here and a little tuck there.+- From Rhinoplasty, Breast Augmentation, Blepharoplasty, Cheek Implants, Chin Implants, Lip Augmentation, Facelifts, Tummy Tucks+-to Botox, our Francis R Beverly Hills skincare products+-and Radiesse Injections…when the cameras turn off, the stars come out for maintenance.

+- Well pilot season is over and TV shows are coming to hiatus….and yes, we have some nippin and tuckin to do over the next few weeks.+- That’s why I have always had my own surgery center to perform my Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery Procedures.+- I’ve had celeb’s do their surgery on Sunday’s when the place was empty and nobody+-would know.+-+-I have the ability to add a surgery case or move my schedule around…..my staff really does all this obviously….but the fact is that I can make things happen, when the celebs need them to because this is my facility!+- Hospitals and surgery centers that cater to many types or doctors don’t have that luxury.

+-All my staff sign non-disclosure agreements.+-+- There’s no media leak about celebrity clientele for the PR value…you come see us it’s like Fort Nox if you want or need that kind of privacy.+- You deserve no less no matter who you are and what you are coming to see me about.

+-OK….time to get back on the soap box.+- There’s a very popular radio station, here in LA, that has one of their on-air personalities doing an endorsement for a skin care line.+- The crux of the product is a concentrated AHA (alpha hydroxy acid).+- As you can imagine…this is being touted as the greatest thing since sliced bread….+- Really?

+-The trouble with knowing too much…is that I know too much and this particular endoresement kind of aggrevates me.+- AHA’s are mild+-acids that work on the epidermis, upper level of the skin, to dissolve the outer lining of cells of this skin layer.+- Not Magic….not the second coming…not even anything close to a miracle treatment like Botox…in my opinion!+- I’m going to give you a crash course in skin and more importantly…beautiful skin and how you can+-get it.

+-As we age we loose collagen in the skin (it’s way more complicated but this is the short and simple version).+- This is the difference between my 17 year old daughter’s smooth, soft, peach n cream complexion and the average 30-40 year old’s that would be interested in buying skin care products.+- The loss of collagen, within the skin, causes the skin to become wrinkled and sagged.+- The outer cell layer of the outer portion of the skin (epidermis) becomes thickened giving the skin a dull grey color.

+-For beautiful, smooth, young-looking skin…you need to remember three words: Collagen…Collagen…Collagen!+- Things (treatments and skin care products) that can increase collagen production in the skin will make the skin appear younger and more beautiful.+- End of story!+-

OK….time to get back on the soap box.  There’s a very popular radio station, here in LA, that has one of their on-air personalities doing an endorsement for a skin care line.  The crux of the product is a concentrated AHA (alpha hydroxy acid).  As you can imagine…this is being touted as the greatest thing since sliced bread….  Really?

The trouble with knowing too much…is that I know too much and this particular endoresement kind of aggrevates me.  AHA’s are mild acids that work on the epidermis, upper level of the skin, to dissolve the outer lining of cells of this skin layer.  Not Magic….not the second coming…not even anything close to a miracle treatment like Botox…in my opinion!  I’m going to give you a crash course in skin and more importantly…beautiful skin and how you can get it.

As we age we loose collagen in the skin (it’s way more complicated but this is the short and simple version).  This is the difference between my 17 year old daughter’s smooth, soft, peach n cream complexion and the average 30-40 year old’s that would be interested in buying skin care products.  The loss of collagen, within the skin, causes the skin to become wrinkled and sagged.  The outer cell layer of the outer portion of the skin (epidermis) becomes thickened giving the skin a dull grey color.

For beautiful, smooth, young-looking skin…you need to remember three words: Collagen…Collagen…Collagen!  Things (treatments and skin care products) that can increase collagen production in the skin will make the skin appear younger and more beautiful.  End of story!

Now back to the AHA products…..these products are designed to effect the outer most cells of the outer layer of the skin (epidermis)…while this may decrease the thickness of that outer cell layer….it’s not going to be able to penetrate down to the dermis (deeper layer within the skin) where new collagen is produced.  Not getting there…no how…no way!  So….is this type of product alone going to give you beautiful, young, skin?  Unlikely!

+- Did an interesting case today.+- Full face TCA chemical peel.+- I prefer to use 30 percent TCA….thrichloroacetic acid…say that 5 times really fast.+- The TCA at that concentration (30 percent) gives a medium strength peel that will give the entire face a fresh look in about 1 week.

+-The chemical is applied to clean skin.+- The patient can be awake or under anesthesia for about 10 minutes.+- The woman today decided to go to sleep.+- The TCA is applied with gauge.+- As the chemical evaporates, the skin begins to turn a white color.+- This never happens with a single application of TCA and never happens evenly.+- On the contrary, mutiple applicatipons are required and the face starts to take on a patch-work of pink with+-shades of white and off-white.+- The trick to doing a great TCA peel is to fan the patien…my scrub nurse does the fanning…as I apply the TCA.+- This allows a rapid and accurate assessment of when the skin is peeled just right.+- The just-done look is when there is an even white color to the entire face.+- You have to watch constantly however because that white color will only last a few minutes and then the skin will return back to the patch-work of pink and off white.+- If you’re not paying attention, too much acid could be applied causing a deeper peel then desired.

+-After the peel is at just the right depth….this is just into the upper levels of the dermis….I place a layer of super fine petroleum medical ointment and the patient wakes up.+- The stinging…yes, there is some stinging with a TCA peel.+- I mean, it is a chemical burn after all.+- The stinging rapidly subsides after several minutes and the patients face will be slightly pink that night.+- Keeping the ointment on for the next few days will allow the burn to heal rapidly and prevent the skin from becoming too dry.+- The skin turn dark, like you got a suntan, in about 3 days and peels away in about 5 days.+- Makeup can typically be applied at about 5-6 days.+- There is no weeping or crusting with this depth of peel.+- What’s left is soft, smooth beautiful new skin.+- Who doesn’t want that.+- I encourage our patients to maintain that beautiful skin with our Cosmeceutical Skin care Products Francis R Beverly Hills(R)…skin care that really works… http://www.frbh.com

+-Other Beauty Idols in Hollywood also score very high using my “Palmer Beauty Principles.”+- Angelina Jolie, regarded by many, as the most attractive woman on the planet gets a perfect 100 using my beauty principles.+- No wonder she’s so popular.+- Jennifer Lopez is being compared to Sophia Loren.+- Sophia got perfect scores when she was younger and remains one of the true Hollywood Icons and timeless beauties.+- Jennifer Lopez, while very attractive and very popular, scores a solid 90 points out of a possible 100 uisng my “Palmer Beauty Principles.”+-

+-Sienna Miller is similarly being compared to Beauty Legend+-Brigitte Bardot.+- While Ms Bardot scored in the high 90′s, back in the day,+-using my beauty principles, Ms Miller came in at 90 points out of a perfect score of 100.+- Stunning beautiful but the new Bardot?+- I’ll let you decide.+- If you want to learn more about my “Palmer Beauty Priciples” and how they define and quantify beauty….go to the Dr. Palmer’s read section for a direct link to the subject.+- You can also+-read more here:+-+-

What does it take to score like one of these Hollywood lovlies?+- Depends.+- It might be a Rhinoplasty, Blepharoplasty, Lip Augmentation, Cheek or Chin Augmentation, Breast Augmentation with Implants, Facelift, Botox or Restylane injections.+- There all available and that star you love to look at might just be doing the same things in order to look that good.

+-I saw a tummy tuck, for a psot-op visit and started to remove some of the stitches.+- The stitches around the belly button are removed about 9-10 days after the surgery.+- I’ve been using dissolveable stitches for everything else.+- She has some numbness over the entire abdomen, which+-becomes completely normal at about 3 months postop.+- The abdomen will contimue to flatten, as the swelling subsides over the next couple of months.+- Strenuous exercise can be resumed at 8 weeks after the surgery.+- I wonder how many of the celebrity transformations are really Tummy Tucks (Abdominoplasty).

+-I gave Ashton’s demo CD to several other sources in pursuit of feed back from another producer.+- We are deciding whether, or not, we want to accept an exclusive 6 month agreement from another record producer to shop Ashton to record labels.+-

+-Working on the final details of the residents rotation through our office to have me teach them Facial Plastic Surgery procedures.+- Worked with my publicist to get out a couple of new press release.+- One was about general anesthesia+-and how it is rapidly becoming a thing of the past with plastic and cosmetic surgery procedures.+-

+-Did several surgeries, this week, under local and have several more next week the same way.+- People just don’t want to feel out of it from the general anesthetic if they can avoid it.+- With some surgeies, I need people to be completely asleep because you can’t completely numb up the surgical area…like Breast Augmentation, Tummy Tuck, Blepharoplasty, Rhinoplasty, Face Lift, Neck Lift, Cheek/Chin Implant, Lip Augmentation+-and+-Browlift.+- In fact, I saw a consult today that was thrilled to hear that she could have her surgery without a general anesthetic.+- Glad to be of service!+- As always lots of Botox, Restylane, Radiesse, perlane and Juvederm+-Injections…and our Francis R Beverly Hills (R) skin care products are always a big seller.+- Read more here: http://www.frbh.com

+- March 8, 2006:+- I have been doing Botox Injections to soften lines around the mouth for over 10 years.+- It really+-works on those nasty vertical lip lines…you know the ones that seem to get worse every year and defy ever treatment know to mankind.+- You’ve tried Lasers, chemical peels and a whole host of srcubs, creams and lotions and nadda…the lines are still there!+- Botox is a modern day miracle and when used properly, can soften these stubborn lip lines without making you face look like it’s enetering the next ice age.+- Can this be true?+- Trust me it is!+-

The right amount of Botox at the right dilution….shhh..I have my own secret dilution that+-I have used for years and the lines soften right before your eyes.+- If that’s not magic then I don’t know what is.+- We have patients that have to fly here from across the country because we are one of the very few that can treat their lip lines.+- Yes, it smarts for a second…I mean it is an injection albeit with a very small needle but the discomfort is well worth it to rid yourself of these unsightly lip lines.+- So if you have+-lip lines..don’t get a Laser or Chemical Peel but consider Botox as an option.+- The effects last about 4-6 months…not bad for a 2 minute treatment and no downtime!+- PS there is a limit to the amount of Botox that we can use around the mouth and sometimes we need to treat additional lines after 1 month for a better aesthetic result.

Botox+-can also used to soften lines around the nose before or after a Rhinoplasty!

After your Botox Treatment use a skin care regimen that builds collagen in your skin for a further improvement in the texture and appearance of your skin including the area around the mouth.+- My new Cosmeceutical Skin Care company Francis R Beverly Hills+-offers numerous products that I developed to smooth, soften and rejuvenate your skin.+- Why not have skin as beautiful as celebrities?

Now I don’t want to burst any+-bubbles so close to Hollywood’s big night but it seems that the celebs are getting a liitle help in the digital realm.+- That’s right, yours truly, the good doctor, has administered more than a little help to some celebs images using $250,000 computers at a post production visual effects house.+- This is a kick…I use my Palmer Beauty Principles +-to make the images younger and more attractive…best part is there’s no bleeding, bruising or recovery time.+- This will be the wave of the future in TV and Movieland and you heard it here first!

The technology allows the stars faces and bodies to show effects of Botox, Radiesse, Cheek Augmentation, Rhinoplasty, Face Lifts, neck Lifts, Blepharoplasty, Browlift, Liposuction, Breast Augmentation, Tummy Tuck, Lip Augmentation and skin Care….basically all similar results tahn if the celebrities had actually and recently undergone all of those procedures.+- How cool is that!
