+-Ok, in part three of Rhinoplasty 101, I’d like to talk about realistic expectations.+- Now that you know a little bit about facial aesthetics from my “Palmer Beauty Principles” ( http://www.drfpalmer.com/palmer-beauty-principles.html ) and about Rhinoplasty Surgery ( http://www.drfpalmer.com/Rhinoplasty.html ) it’s time to talk about the types of things that you can and can’t expect from your Rhinoplasty Procedure.

+-Rhinoplasty has the ability, in general, to improve the appearance of your nose two points.+- That means if your nose is rated from 1 to 10 (10 being a perfect nose) and your’s is a 7 before the Rhinoplasty…the best that you can expect is to+-improve 2 additional points or a 9 out of 10.+- This is a general rule but is typically true.+- This also assummes the best case scenario:+- best trained, aesthetically gifted and experienced Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon who is a Rhinoplasty Surgeon and that the case turns out as well as possible.

+-Rhinoplasty will not…..make you gorgeous…unless you already are and the nose is distracting attention away from your other features.+- This was the case with Ashlee Simpson’s Rhinoplasty ( nose job ).+- Ashlee Simpson’s+-transformation is dramatic because her cheeks, lips and eyes were not noticed for the length and distracting features of her nose.+- The moment that a Closed Rhinioplasty was used to remove the nose as a distraction…Ashlee Simpson’s true beauty was revealed.+- A gifted, experienced Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon who has experience performing Rhinoplasties (nose jobs) would have been able to see the transformation in his/her+-long before Ashlee Simpson had her Closed Rhinoplasty Surgery (nose job).+- But if Ashlee Simpson didn’t have that hidden beauty+-before the Rhinoplasty (nose job) it sure wouldn’thave been there after the Closed Rhinoplasty.+- Noses do not make people beautiful in and of themselves….rather a sleek and refined nose allows the cheeks, eyes and lips to reveal your true beauty.

+-If you are interested in seeing whether or not a Rhinoplasty could reveal the hidden beauty in you…I urge you to contact the most experienced Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon that you can find and have a consultation. My office in Beverly Hills+-allows patients to e-mail us jpeg’s of their nose for comments at drfpalmer1@aol.com and even offers+-internet and phone consultations for a more in depth analysis at 310-652-9583.+- In person consults, of course, are always encouraged as nothing takes the place of+- a face to face consultation with your surgeon if you can arrange the travel and don’t mind the expense of flying/driving+- for the consult.

+-Have a happy and safe 4th of July!

+-Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery by definition is the improvement of your appearance!+- In that persuit, a complete and thorough understanding of the aesthetics of beauty…is not an option…is a must have requirement for your Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon.+- Whether you are considering Botox Injections ( http://www.drfpalmer.com/botox-injections.html ) to soften lines and wrinkles; Radiesse ( http://www.drfpalmer.com/radiesse-injections.html ) +-shape the Cheeks ( http://www.drfpalmer.com/CheekImplants.html ), Chin ( http://www.drfpalmer.com/ChinImplants.html )+-and Jawline; Rhinoplasty Surgery ( http://www.drfpalmer.com/Rhinoplasty.html )+-to improve the apperance of the nose; Facelifts ( http://www.drfpalmer.com/FaceLift.html )+-or minilifts ( http://www.drfpalmer.com/FaceLift.html )+-like our “Palmer Celebrity Lift” ( http://www.drfpalmer.com/PalmerCelebrityLift.html )+-that can make you look 10 years younger in 90 minutes or less without a general anaesthetic; or Breast Enhancement and Augmentation with Breast Implants ( http://www.drfpalmer.com/BreastAugmentation.html ) the+-aesthetics of beauty will dictate what should be done…and more importantly what shouldn’t be done in order for you to be more attractive!+- THIS IS AN FACT!

+-You may assume that all Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeons are equally well versed in the aesthetics of beauty because after all that’s their business….ah, but you would be utterly incorrect in that logic.+- It may come as a shock to you but the aesthetics of beauty are not taught to Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeons as part of their training.+- Now, some may disagree and show you a myriad af angles and proportions taht we all learn as part of Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery but nowhere does anyone tell us what makes a face female or male.+- What makes a face more youthful and attractive.+- Or how about what is the most important beauty feature of the face?+- None of these are part of Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery training.+- The answer, according to my “Palmer Beauty Principles” is the Cheeks..that account for 75% of what makes a face appear male, female, young, old, attractive or less so.+- Important stuff to know and understand?+- Yeah, you bet!+- I know because I had to come up with these “Palmer Beauty Principles” on my own….over 12 years ago.

+-You, as a consumer seeking Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery as a possible way of making yourself more attractive must understand the aesthetics of beauty in case your Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon does not.+- If all Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeons understood the aesthetics of beauty equally, why do some people look worse after their Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery?+- Answer: because the wrong aesthetic judgement may have been used in the first place!

+-Read and fully understand the aesthetics of beauty as I have outlined in my “Palmer Beauty principles” http://www.drfpalmer.com/palmer-beauty-principles.html and use these to arm yourself with the knowledge you need when seeking to improve your apperance.+- If you have a consultation with a Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon and he/she suggests sopmething counter to those principles…..you may want to stop and think about the situation.+- In the end, it’s you body/face and your decision….I just want you all to make the correct aesthetic one!+- Visit my website to learn more http://www.drfpalmer.com

+-I believe that Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery can be a valuable tool to create beauty and make you more attractive.+- However, what’s the secret formula for beauty and how can you learn my secrets?+- Well, I’ve made it about as easy as possible for anyone interested in beauty and how to make themselves more attractive.+- My secret?+-+- My “Palmer Beauty Principles”.

Read more about the “Palmer Beauty Principles” here:

http://www.drfpalmer.com/palmer-beauty-principles.html

+-Why did I go through all the trouble to figure these beauty principles out in the first place.+- Let me ask you a question.+- If I, as a Beverly Hills Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon, am charged with making people more attractive for a living…..how can I not have a complete understanding of what makes people beautiful?+- It turns out that we never learn these principles during our 10 years of training.+- As crazy as this sounds…it’s absolutely true.+- No professor, no teacher ever explained to me what human beauty was or how I might recreate it.+- I learned vague principles and surgical techniques but I could tell immediately upon graduation that something was lacking.

+-I spent the next several years in intense investigation.+- God has granted me with the ability to see patterns where others do not.+- I figured out what makes people attractive…beauty is defineable, quantifiable and most importantly to me as a Beverly Hills Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon…it CAN BE CREATED!

+-That was some 14 years ago and I have spent the years that follow teachinhg my patients+-these “Palmer Beauty Principles” through TV appearances and magazine articles.+- Some years later, I developed a website where people can go to learn these principles and more and now I write about these ideas and other topics in my blog.

+-I believe that everyone should understand their beauty and how to improve upon it, should they have that inclination….or perhaps their loved one have+-the inclination.+- You best chance of having a successful outcome after Plastic and Cosnetic Surgery is to go as a well informed consumer that knows what features will make you more attractive.+- Be proactive not reactive when it comes to your self-improvement.+- If you can tell me right now what single facial feature accounts for 75% of what makes you look attractive…..then you are already well ahead of most.+- If you can’t, then+-read my “Palmer Beauty Principles.”

Well the Oscars were full of glitz and glitter as the modern day royalty ( our celebrities ) strutted their stuff down the red carpet.+- I, for one, still noticed some beauties that seem to have missed the news that the severely skinny, “I only eat lettuce for meals” look is unattractive.+- I thought that movement had undergone a justly deserved timely demise.+- Who thinks that is a good look?+- Worse, what type of message is this giving our children that idolize these young actresses?+- Does anyone think we, as viewers are fooled?+- We can tell that something is wrong when their bodies are so thin that their heads appear huge.+- Who’s propagating this look?+- Are casting directors, producers, agents insisting that these poor women starve themselves to look+-thin and more thin?+- I say enough is enough.+- I am an expert in beauty and I am telling you that this IS NOT ATTRACTIVE!+- Period!+- Sorry, I had to get that off my chest.

OK.+- Now+-for the beauty part of+-Hollywood’s biggest evening.+- Reese Witherspoon is just plain adorable…but Charlize Theron scored a 99 out of a possible 100 points using+-my Palmer Beauty Principle+-scale.+-Wow, she looks amazing.+- She may have been the most attractive woman at the Oscars.+- Winner Rachel Weisz scored solidly in the 90′s and was looking especially cute.+- Keira Knightley also scored a 99 out of a perfect 100 and is drop dead gorgeous.+- Full round cheeks, beautiful eyes/eyebrows and full plump lips.+- The top three aesthetic beauty features of the face that will make you a knockout!+- Speaking of knockouts, how beautiful did Jennifer Anniston look Sunday.+- She truly is an American Beauty.

Just to be clear, when evaluating the faces and bodies of Celebreties, Royalty, Socialites or anyone els, it doesn’t matter whether the features are from Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery (Cheek Implants, Rhinoplasty, Breast Augmentatuion, Lip Augmentation, Chin Implant, Radiesse Injections, Botox, Restylane, FRBH skin care products+-or a Facelift) or that they are from God.+- I only care that they are there or they are not!

Friday 3/3/06: Man oh man+G-let+GGs call the last couple of days +G+Plump, Fill and Freeze+G-. It seems that the whole world was here getting Restylane, Collagen or Radiesse to their lips, various folds, lines and wrinkles. I put enough Botox in faces to single handedly raise the price of Allergan stock (Allergan is the company that makes Botox for the US). There+GGll be a whole lotta smooth and plump faces for the Academy Awards this Sunday+G-.Botox like all of Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery is an art, so if you see someone with that frozen +G+I+GGve had to much Botox look+G-+G-we didn+GGt do it! I+GGve been doing Botox for almost 12 years+G-and it+GGs totally slick and amazing, but like all things, you can have too much of a good thing and look bad! Think Quality not quantity and you should do fine. Robyn, my wife has a Masters in Nursing and also does Botox and soft-tissue fillers like Restylane, Collagen and Radiesse+G-In fact she does most of it since I+GGm usually in the OR doing surgery. However, we both use my own special dilution formula and method of doing injecting the Botox.

The most popular Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery treatments, pre-Oscar night, remain Botox to smooth out lines around the mouth+G-you know those nasty little lines around the lips that seem to defy treatment. Botox in the right spot+G-and no more line. Yes, it+GGs really that easy. Restylane or Collagen in the Lips give a very sexy pouty look that never goes out of fashion+G-.seems everyone on and off the +G+Red Carpet+G- wants that very attractive look for this very special night in +G+tinsel town+G-. Let+GGs not forget the nasolabial folds+G-.these are the folds that go from the edge of the nostril down to the corners of the mouth+G-.Restylane in these can literally soften the entire face and make you look years younger. The stars have known this secret for about+G-an eternity and there was a whole lotta plumping and filling before the Academy Awards this year like all the years past.

The British film crew was here yesterday afternoon and it was a really cute piece. A young (in her mid twenties) aspiring actress was here to have me evaluate her appearance and share with her what Hollywood looks for in a female superstar. Of course, I used the Palmer Beauty Principles and gave her sound solid advice on how she could be star quality beautiful. I can+GGt promise, of course, that she+GGd get movie or TV role but she definitely would be more attractive. I suggested improvements in the Top three areas that I refer to as the +G+one-two-three Beauty punch+G-+G-the shape of the cheeks, eye area and lips+G-..explained in detail in my Palmer Beauty Principles. The producer asked me if anyone had ever approached me to do a reality show about my family+G-.My daughter is almost 18 and has an amazing voice written and recorded several original song with a producer that worked with the band Maroon Five, my 15 year-old son has a recurring role on a Nickelodeon sitcom called +G+Unfabulous+G- and my wife is intelligent, strong and beautiful+G-+G-I laughed and said yes+G-a couple of producers were actually working on that show idea as we speak.
That doesn+GGt include the Doctor 90210 shoot or the new show that is being proposed for future development+G-..sometimes I get dizzy with all my irons in the fire. But I am a Vigo and in particular a Virgo Dragon. I am the most happy when I have many, many projects and I thrive being able to juggle them all! Have a great weekend and be sure to watch the Academy Awards on Sunday. Hey, while you+GGre at it+G-tell your kids to tune into Unfabulous at 7:30 Sunday on Nickelodeon and you might see my son. Ciao!

Thursday 3/2/06: Yikes!! A busy day today.+- The British film crew is coming this afternoon+G-time to get my TV face on.+- Remember, I promised myself always to have fun doing these shows.+- I am curious what the aspiring actress will look like and what she+GGs going to ask me to do for her to improve her appearance?+- I+GGll fill you in on Friday.

Saw a consult yesterday afternoon after a full day in the OR.+- She was almost 50 and says she dates men that are 35.+- She asked for my advice in ways that she could look younger.+- A reasonable request.+- After taking a look at her, I recommended removing the excess skin of the lower eyelids, a minilift and some Botox to soften the vertical lines around her mouth.+- It always amazes me that people feel that the eyes make them look more or less attractive.+- My Palmer Beauty Principles show that they eyes make you look tired, when aged, and not tired when there are no excesses of skin or fat around the eyes+G-but they don+GGt have the aesthetic power to make you more attractive per se.+- She+GGll look almost 10 years younger after those procedures with about 1 day recovery.+- Until that pill+G-you know the beauty pill that we take once a year to make us look 25+G-.until that pill is developed+G-these simple procedures are the best way to take years off of your face.+- When combined with Radiesse to re-shape the cheeks into a more youthful position+G-.you can get real beauty enhancement.

Saw a woman this morning that has loose skin of the face and neck+G-allot of loose skin, but she absolutely doesn+GGt want a Facelift+G-I+GGll come up with some custom version of a minilift with direct excision of the neck skin from an incision under her chin with some Radiesse+- to build up her cheeks+G-add some micro-lipo of the nasolabial fold fat and whoala +G-.she+GGll look almost 10 years younger.+- Making people more attractive is a joy!+- Over the past 16 years, I have accumulated a large number of plastic and cosmetic surgery procedures at my disposal+G-but I tend to view these procedures as tools+G-.tools that I can modify, mold and evolve to do the aesthetic things that I want to do rather than take the inherent limitations of what the procedures would give me.+- I think it+GGs a frame of mind really.+- I see a patient.+- I am presented mentally with that image of the patient aesthetically.+- My mind then uses the Palmer Beauty Principles within seconds to see where the features could be made to look more ideal, as this is the key to true beauty!+- My mind then scrolls through the menu of possible procedures picking the right one for the job.+- Sometimes when I am presented with a tough case+G-.I just let it stay in my subconscious and the solution comes to me when I+GGm driving home or reading the paper.+- How cool is that.+- That+GGs why I blog+G-..I have this vast amount of knowledge and experience that I want to share with you+G-why?+- So all of you are armed with knowledge on how you can make yourself more attractive if you, or a loved one, ever has the desire to do so.+- That+GGs why I write articles, books, and try to teach something useful to consumers each time I appear on a TV show+G-no matter the subject.
