In my 20 plus years experience using Botox to reduce unwanted lines and wrinkles, I have found the following treatment pattern the most effective: The first visit and initial treatment is followed up with a booster treatment using the same dose of Botox or Dysport approximately 1 month after the initial treatment. This further weakens the offending muscle(s) causing the unwanted lines. The patients are then placed on repeat treatments spaced at 6 month intervals.

If your cheeks have the proper aesthetic volume and shape, you are not only more attractive but your face ages in a better manner than when the cheeks are flat or hollow. This is a straight forward concept, yet in my 20 + years as a Beverly Hills Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon I have spend more time discussing this point than any other in the aesthetic medical field. In women, the cheeks are full and round allowing the face to appear oval or heart-shaped. Conversely, in men the cheeks should be short and more narrow allowing the face to appear angular and ruggedly handsome. That’s the starting cheek pattern that should be created whether you use Cheek Implants or fillers like Radiesse, Perlane or Juvederm Ultra Plus.

The cheek implants that are the world’s best are the ones that accomplish the proper aesthetic shape…. Fillers can be used to create a similar shape but the plastic and cosmetic surgeon or dermatologist must have the aesthetic eye to place the filler in the appropriate place and in the right amount so that shape is the final outcome. Both cheek implants and fillers can look less than ideal if the basic “What’s Your Number” principles are violated.

Cheek implants are placed through a small incision inside, of the mouth, and the implant is placed under the covering of the bone. The procedure takes about 30 minutes and I have not find it necessary to secure the implant with screws or sutures. It’s the placement that’s key, in my opinion.

Using fillers to augment the cheeks offers instant gratification. An office procedure taking about 10-15 minutes, the fillers give the desired effect right then and there with little to no swelling and bruising. The effects of fillers for cheek augmentation last between 8-12 months depending on the type of filler used. It’s a type of beauty maintenance similar to Botox or Dysport injections.

I’ve been receiving more and more e-mails and photos of potential fisrt-time Rhinoplasty as well as Revision Rhinoplasty patients from all over the world. The latest several were from Taiwan, Singapore, Shanghai, London, India, London and Brazil. From the photos, of her nose, it seemed very likely that she had what is called an “open roof” deformity with an incomplete fracture of one side of her nasal bone. The remedy, in that particular case, is repeat fracture of that nasal bone during a Revision Rhinoplasty. This information, whether acted upon by the patient or not, put an end to uncertainty and confusion about why her nose looked the way that it did.

If you are like millions of people worldwide that are thinking about having a Rhinoplasty or you one of the hundreds of thousands of Rhinoplasty patients, only one thing really matters to you. Where can you get the World’s Best Rhinoplasty.

I have been performing Rhinoplasty here in Beverly Hillsfor over 20 years and for about 7 years traveled to London to perform plastic and cosmetic surgery including Rhinoplasty. Rhinoplasty surgeries in order to have the type of experience you want in a world class
Rhinoplasty Surgeon. If you are seeking Revision Rhinoplasty, then your Rhinoplasty
Surgeon needs even more experience as the nasal tissue, structures and skin all become
increasingly more difficult to manipulate with each subsequent Rhinoplasty.
3. The plastic and cosmetic surgeon and the patient must have a thorough understanding
of the aesthetics of beauty as outlined in my new book, on the subject, “What’s Your
Number…the palmer code.” This allows you to get the desired improvement and helps
you avoid a pinched, scooped, short or distorted nose after your Rhinoplasty.

Differences in cartilage thickness, nasal bone size and thickness, skin thickness and amount of oils, shae and size of the nostrils, size and shape of tip cartilages, rotation angle of the tip, amount of columellar show, width of nasal bones and the forhead/nasal angle are just a few of the many variables that must be taken into consideration by an experienced, world-class Rhinoplasty Surgeon…all before the proper surgical plan can be mapped out for your Rhinoplasty. So when seeking Rhinoplasty….get the World’s Best….do your homework and get the training, experience and sound aesthetic judgment that you need.

Augmenting, or improvong the size and shape of the chin with a Chin Implant.

Just stepped out of the OR where I removed a small, button-style chin implant from a tall rugged-looking man. He came to me seeking a more augmented and defined chin then what he had obtained from the button chin implant that had been placed by another surgeon elsewhere.

This story illustrates my two basic principles of aesthetic plastic and cosmetic surgery, including Chin Implants.

Rule # 1: The Aesthetics of Beauty must be followed. In this case, the small button-style chin implant was not consistent with the aesthetics of beauty and was incapable of making his chin more rugged and masculine. In a word, the procedure, in my opinion, was doomed to failure, from a purely aesthetical sense, once that size and shape of chin implant was selected. At that point it didn’t matter how technically gifted the surgeon was or how much experience the sugeon had with chin implants….the patient’s appearance was not going to be improved, nor was this chin implant capable of increasing his “Number”.

Rule # 2: You, as the consumer have the responsibility of selecting the best, even the World’s best plastic and cosmetic surgeon that you can find…making certain that the surgeon follows the aesthetics of beauty in a way that will improve “Your Number”.
