Is Anesthesia for Plastic Surgery a thing of the past?
around lunchtime of March 28th, 2006More and more of our patients are opting to do their plastic and cosmetic surgery procedures under a local infiltration without anesthesia. It seems that people don’t want that woozy feeling that you get after a general anesthetic…the nausea….the groggy feeling…who needs it! We have been performing more and more surgeries under a novacaine-like injection.
Procedures that can be done under Novacaine-like local infiltration without anesthesia:
Mini Facelift: Look about 10 years younger in about 90 minutes.
Blepharoplasty (eye lifts): Removes the tired look from your eyes.
Browlift: Get those beautiful almond-shaped eyes.
Lip Augmentation (with Alloderm): For Plump full lips in about 30 minutes.
Liposuction: Remove unwanted fat.
Mini-Tummy Tuck: Tighten up the lower abdomen and remove some excess skin.
T-shaped Brachioplasty (arm lift): Remove excess skin from the arms.
Buttock Lift: Lift and tighten the buttocks.
Back Lift: The back equivalent of a tummy tuck.
Regional Thigh Lift (inner or outer thighs): Tighten up those thighs.
Otoplasty (reshape the ears): For ears that stick out….soften their appearance.
Exchange Breast Implants: Remove and replace with similar sized Breast Implants.
Injection Rhinoplasty with Radiesse: Reshape the nose without surgery using Radiesse…it lasts about 2 years.
Facial Skeletal Sculpting with Radieese: Cheeks, Chin, Jaws reshsped with Radiesse injections.
Chemical Peels: For soft smooth skin.
Hair Transplants: For male and female hair loss.
Scalp Reductions: To decrease the bald area before hair transplants.
Scar Revisions: Improve the appearance of a scar.
Botox: Soften lines and wrinkles.

The list grows each day……will general anesthesia become obsolete……..perhaps some day!
