More Plastic Surgery procedures can be performed without anesthesia!
in the early afternoon of April 10th, 2006Did an Upper Blepharoplasty today under local infiltration and no anesthesia. A Blepharoplasty is when skin and fatty tissues are removed from the eyelids. An incision is made in the upper eyelid crease, the tissues are removed and the incision is closed with a dissoveable suture. The whole thing takes about 30 min….all using Novacaine-like injections to numb the skin. No Anesthesia means no groggy sensation for days. Patients love that they can avoid a general or an IV (called twilight) anesthetic. I didn’t need to do a Browlift, which would have required a general anesthetic.
I am performing more and more Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery Procedures under local infiltration and the patients are thrilled. Can your procedure be done this way? Probably, ask me and we’ll see.
